Clever album title, not a terribly clever album. !!! should take note: the dance-punk revolution is thankfully over.

I mean, I know this stuff probably sounds cool while addle-brained on E, but music is supposed to move forward, right? !!! have worn their influences on their collective sleeve for too long, and they now risk being relegated to hackdom. Nobody wants that. Or do they?

Myth Takes is propelled by undeniable momentum: it’s a groovefest for sure, but the needle is stuck in the same groove. A drummer can only bang on a high hat for so long before the coke destroys his septum and a Tony Montana-sized case of paranoia sets in.

In truth, if this kind of thing is your bag, then why not listen to Joy Division or something with at least a modicum of substance? Or find those early Duran Duran records, which are at least more fun.
Yeah Yeah Yeah I I I know know know the the the groove groove groove is is is the the the thing thing thing but but but it it it ain’t ain’t ain’t funky funky funky enough enough enough!!! Enough!
