Mystery of Two - Arrows Are All You Know

Mystery Of Two - Arrows Are All You Know
2007, Exit Stencil

This Indie-punk act is far less annoying than some of the shit bands that unfortunately receive air play these days.

Mystery Of Two’s Arrows Are All You Know often feels formulaic, and is consequently repetitive, but it’s pretty nice to hear some Beach Boys-influenced melodies in songs like “Quick.” Another track, “In My Home,” takes heavy influence from The Doors’ epic “The End”, but goes somewhere entirely different.

The band’s intended effect is clear in the aptly named “Country Song,” where it’s probable that someone in the band said, “Hey, this kind of sounds like a country song, maybe we should call it that.” Beyond the intro, the song itself doesn’t really sound like a country number, but apparently that was enough to inspire its title.
