What can I say? It’s early Pink Floyd, how could it be bad?
These songs were recorded back when Syd Barrett was just crazy enough to make wonderful music. Thing is, the bonus content on the two disc version (check back next week for my review of the three disc version) was almost all released in 1992 for the huge Shine On box set. The mastering is good, though, so the songs sound slightly better than they did in 1992.
Still, it would have been nice to see some nearly-unheard Barrett-penned gem on the set somewhere. Maybe the three disc version will prove more rewarding…
