Interpol - Our Love To Admire

Interpol - Our Love To Admire
2007, Capitol

The overall tone of this album is negative (what do you expect from Interpol?), but other than that, it’s near impossible to find anything negative to say about it.

The NYC quartet’s third studio release builds on their earlier work with familar themes, musically and lyrically. It’s fairly dark, eerie, and often menacing.

On Our Love to Admire, Paul Banks is still angry and seemingly bent on exposing the rawest elements of human relationships, and each song builds as if the band is in full ascension. With virtually no weaknesses, the disc showcases Interpol’s musicianship and songwriting, and the arrangements and production are outstanding. The disc opens with “Pioneer of the Falls,” a tough act to follow, but Interpol shows that they’re up for the challenge.
