Alan Wilkis – Babies Dream Big

Alan Wilkis - Babies Dream Big
2008, Wilcassettes

Alan Wilkis‘ obvious range of influences translates into a kind of unexpected and accessible pop music that is consistently entertaining, with enough variety to avoid sounding derivative.

Really only describable as a pop musician, Wilkis has clearly spent some time thinking about what excites and moves people, and his album Babies Dream Big meets the challenge. Babies Dream Big is at times reminiscent of anything from funk to deep soul to something like the soundtrack to Ghostbusters, but Wilkis never crosses over into triteness and always maintains an aura of like-ability.

Wilkis has all the qualities that make someone a household name, which is a sure possibility if people catch onto what he’s doing.
