Seeing these speeches from the first night of the Democratic Convention, one has to wonder what the Republicans could possibly offer America when they get their turn. This is the Michelle Obama that scares Republicans–the intelligent, comfortable, educated, thoughtful black woman who is apparently the perfect match for Barack.
The GOP will insist that the Obamas are out of touch, but in a single speech, Michelle proves otherwise. After this, one has to wonder what Cindy McCain will have to say. What will the GOP statesmen have to say? (We’re looking at you, Bush?! Cheney??! Rove???! Ted Stevens????!) We know that Barack’s speech will be exciting. How will McCain present himself? Probably rather Bush-like in comparison.
It is also emotional to see Ted Kennedy up there, not at death’s door by any stretch, but still in a weakened condition. Is he making a promise that he can’t keep by pledging to be President Obama’s biggest ally in the Senate? I guess for all the lies politicians have told to move something forward, his is the most forgivable.
Teddy:

I loved watching last night. She does equal awesome. SHE will be Barack’s biggest ally in this election.
