The Two Sarah Palins

The difference between Sarah Palin of a few days ago (above) and last night’s Sarah Palin is astounding, and it highlights five important questions:

• • Is this really the same person who debated Joe Biden?
• • Which version of the Governor is “candid Palin,” and which is “guarded Palin”?
• • Which is a better representation of Palin as a leader—the consistently off guard but revealing Palin (Couric) or the prepared but closed Palin (debate)?
• • Did Palin’s “debate camp” really help her as a leader, or merely make her savvier?
• • Does Palin’s debate performance fare better or worse for her branding as a Washington outsider/maverick, or does it make her look more like a political gerrymanderer?

Well?
