Lawns are a silly American habit. Between herbicides, pesticides, artificial fertilizers, water use, and air pollution it is a wonder that society tolerates them.

Think of all the wasted time! Think of all the sterile habitat that is not that valuable to wildlife!

Like the SUV, lawns will become smaller and hopefully more scarce due to economics and climate change.

It is difficult to change a culture’s aesthetic sense, but well designed natural landscapes can be very beautiful without the pit falls of lawns.

Wait a minute! It’s getting dark, I have to go out and mow my lawn.
