Wilco Annouce Spring Tour Dates

In support of their Grammy nominated Wilco (The Album), Wilco the band have announced a sixteen-date East Coast tour. Promising extended, varied sets in mid-sized theaters, the semi-intimate tour is being billed as “An Evening with Wilco”. Ticket pre-sales start January 6th through Wilcoworld.net.

In addition to the US dates, the globetrotting band is scheduled to play shows in Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Spain. Wilco will also be appearing at the 2010 MusicCares Person of the Year concert honoring Neil Young in late January.

And, in a interesting side note, the band recently earned Album and Band of the Year honors from the German Rolling Stone. It would appear that German people actually do like music that isn’t David Hasselhoff. Perhaps a crossover is in order, and Wilco front man Jeff Tweedy could trade in his Nudie suit for a pair of red Baywatch trunks.
