As they are wont to do, The New Kinetics put on a rocking show at Bar Pink on Saturday. The local four-piece played songs from their explosive new LP, In Stereo, thoroughly entertaining the overflow from True North that apparently now makes up the majority of Bar Pink’s clientele. In what has become a tradition, the band closed its set with a cover, this time in the form of Elastica’s ’90s classic, “Connection.”
The New Kinetics were joined by Okapi Sun, the brand-new project from Maren Parusel and frequent collaborator Gaby Sanchez. Though it was only their second show, the electronic duo made good use out of an impressive assortment of instruments and sounds that included keys, guitar, violin, and looped drums.
