Cults Cut Through the Static

Sort-of-San Diegan band Cults have announced the release of their sophomore album, Static. The follow-up to the group’s hit-spawning, self-titled debut will drop on October 15 on some label called Columbia Records. Static is produced in part by Shane Stoneback of Sleigh Bells fame, who knows his way around getting the most bang for his boy-girl duo buck.

No tour dates have been announced in support of the new album, but given Cults’ San Diego ties, it’s pretty safe to assume they’ll be playing our neck of the woods sometime soon, especially since the Soda Bar’s Cory Steir is their touring drummer.

For a brief but exciting taste of what to expect from Static, check out the band’s self-directed album trailer above.
