Local radio station 91x held its 31st annual X-Fest concert on Friday in Chula Vista.

Always a show guaranteed to pack a diverse lineup, this year was no exception. Headliners included ’90s rock veterans 311, who put on a predictable but enjoyable set; Foster the People, who got one of the biggest crowd reactions of the night; Panic! at the Disco, whose stage time was short but energetic; and Santa Barbara reggae rockers Iration, who earned the biggest smoke cloud of the evening.

Earlier in the day, Phantogram, Capital Cities, MS MR, and Bleachers — the side band of Fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff — all played shorter opening slots. There was some serious talent on display from the newer bands in this lineup, the veteran acts put on solid shows, and the fest was a success again this year.
