legal

We believe that this modern age requires a modern approach, but it’s your right to disagree. If you have legal concerns, please email us first. Our pledge: We aim to help, not to hurt or steal. We do not make any money. We will act immediately to remove any content upon request- no questions asked.

Content on Owl&Bear is posted in good faith, under the assumption that we are acting within the bounds of law or your policy. Our goal here is to promote today’s music by archiving audio and video recordings that have been released to the public for free, as well as Recordings of Independent Origin (ROIO) that have not been officially released. Anything that is officially released after being posted on Owl&Bear will be removed.

We see podcasts and downloads as free advertising- with the artist or organization as recipient of benefits. We do not post individual MP3s without permission or reasonable precedent. We have ongoing relationships with artists and PR reps who understand this potential. We also offer a variety of ad space if you’d like to maximize exposure (any revenue generated is put toward web hosting). Please contact us for more information about advertising.

write for us!

We have real editors, real writers, and real contact with label and PR folks. Think you’re good enough? We might be willing to pay you for your work. Want to work for free? That’s fine too. Either way, email the site admin.

our contributors

Harry is our Editor-In-Chief. His personal dark side has evaded popular discovery since his birth in 1884.

Chris is an expert on San Diego’s music scene, film scene, Greek scene, making a scene, and creaming the scene.

Marty is a poet from Georgia. He writes damn lovely poems and lyrical reviews, and we’re always proud to occasionally steal (with permission) the content of his website.

Ed is a sardonic coot who loves to foist his correct opinions onto others.

Bruce is a PowerBook 540c computer. He does the podcasts. What more do you want?
