This is another solid, if not groundbreaking solo record from the prolific Mark Knopfler.
The overall tone of this album is negative (what do you expect from Interpol?), but other than that, it’s near impossible to find anything negative to say about it.
Neko Case is in fine voice, and this has all the makings of a classic live recording. She is probably the second coming of Patsy Cline, if there could ever be such a thing.
I should probably admit, I’ve always enjoyed Richard Thompson’s guitar quite a bit more than his songwriting (blasphemy!).
