Full album stream: Crooked Fingers – “Breaks in the Armor”

Led by former Archers of Loaf front man Eric Bachmann, Crooked Fingers just released Breaks in the Armor, the band’s sixth full-length album. Breaks in the Armor is a diverse set of understated arrangements — the perfect thing for a rainy winter day in San Diego (or a rainy spring day everywhere else).

Bachmann recorded Breaks in the Armor last winter in Athens, Georgia, otherwise known as the Mecca of indie rock. He also recently reinstated Archers of Loaf; according to Merge Records, over the course of 2012, Bachmann will tour as both bands, “making the most of two distinct and rewarding modes of expression and performance.” This time around, he’ll bring his Crooked Fingers to the Casbah on 11/26. Pennsylvania’s Strand of Oaks and San Diego’s Little White Teeth will open.

  1. Singer/songwriter Liz Durrett, niece of the late Vic Chesnutt, will be adding backing vocals for Crooked Fingers. Her most recent album, Outside Our Gates, was produced by Erich Bachmann.
