Local troubadour Jesse LaMonaca and his band The Dime Novels are set to release their new album, The Lament of Tumbleweed Hawk. The follow-up to 2010’s Until The Stars Came Out boasts thirteen tracks of Americana goodness, and they just made a video for the title track.

Directed by local filmmakers-extraordinaire Kevin and Rebecca Joelson, “The Lament of Tumbleweed Hawk” boasts more gorgeous shots of the woods than Bon Iver could shake a stick at. The video’s premise is simple yet effective — a pensive-looking LaMonaca ambles through the forest — allowing the song’s elegance and beauty to take center stage. Bonus points to LaMonaca for his Paul Robeson-esque delivery of the words “Tumbleweed Hawk.”

The Lament of Tumbleweed Hawk will be released on February 18 during a special celebratory show at the Casbah. LaMonaca and his band will be accompanied by Blackout Party, The Black Sands, and The Fire Eaters. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
