Dynamic duo Buke & Gase will play the Casbah on February 20. The band is currently on tour in support of the exceptional General Dome, which dropped in January.

It may only be February now, but General Dome is certain to remain one of 2013’s best albums. The group’s use of “buke” (an electrified six-string baritone ukulele) and “gase” (a guitar-bass hybrid) has resulted in an aesthetic that’s wildly weird but instantly accessible. Songs like the stomping “Houdini Crush” and the gleaming “Hard Times” show off Buke & Gase’s skill at blending low-end crunch with airborne vocals, and that collision of sounds coupled with the group’s daring compositions have made General Dome one of the most fascinating releases in recent memory.
