Lightning Dust recently released the video for “Diamond,” from their brand new third album Fantasy.
Fantasy moves from the folkier sound of their past releases and takes Lightning Dust into a minimalist synth realm. At times channeling 80s pop, at others more goth, and at others more modern R&B elements, Fantasy recalls artists like Kate Bush, Bat For Lashes, Cocateau Twins and Coco Rosie. Pitchfork called “Diamonds” the album’s first single “a gorgeously lean slice of retro-tinged soft-pop, showcasing that Webber and Wells are perfectionists when doing more with less.”
Lightning Dust plays the Casbah on August 9.
