This review is a little late coming. Locked Down, the latest album from Dr. John, has likely sat dusty on the shelves of many a record store without receiving the traction it deserves. Video Premiere: The Silent Comedy – “Purple Heart”

The Silent Comedy have just created a video for their rare song, “Purple Heart,” and they were kind enough to give us the first look. The live session was shot during the band’s recent Summer Sweat tour at the Penner-Ash Wine Cellars in Newberg, OR, and the winery’s expansive acoustics lend the perfect backdrop to the song’s quiet power. The Silent Comedy Join Edward Sharpe, Fruit Bats, Josh Ritter for Dave Matthews Band Caravan

San Diego favorites The Silent Comedy have just told us that they’ve been chosen to play the George, WA stop of the Dave Matthews Band Caravan.

The 3-day festival will be held from September 2-4 at the Gorge Ampitheatre, and boasts an impressive lineup that includes Gogol Bordello, The Roots, Devotchka, Fruit Bats, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Josh Ritter and the Royal City Band, and the subtabularly dreaming Dave Matthews himself.
