What happens when two attractive sex addicts with a romantic past reunite? If you guessed the answer is “they have sex,” you’d be wrong. At least, that’s the premise of Sleeping With Other People, the new comedy from writer/director Leslye Headland (Bachelorette).

The film stars Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men,) and Jason Sudeikis (SNL, We’re the Millers) as Lainey and Jake, two New Yorkers who lost their virginity to each other back in college. Years later, both of them are monogamy-challenged sex addicts, and when they have a chance encounter at a support group meeting, sparks immediately fly.

Desperate to preserve their rekindled friendship, Lainey and Jake make a pact not to spoil things by having sex with each other. But what will win out: their will power, or their fast-growing attraction toward one another?

The trailer for Sleeping With Other People plants the film firmly in rom-com territory. There’s Lainey’s sassy, advice-dispensing best friend (Natasha Lyonne), the caddish rival for her affections (Adam Scott), and Jake’s effortlessly vulgar buddy (Jason Mantzoukas). But the film looks to take a more insightful and overt look at sexuality than most rom-coms, and there’s no denying the randy chemistry between Brie and Sudeikis.

To see those two charming leads try not to knock boots (and probably fail — I mean, what fun would it be if they succeeded?), we’re giving away tickets to an advance screening of Sleeping With Other People on September 21 at 7:00 at Landmark’s Hillcrest Cinemas. That’s four whole days before the film opens throughout San Diego on September 25.
